50s EAGLE & TIGER JAPANESE SOUVENIR JACKET

A killer "Sukajan" souvenir jacket from 1950s with an insane patina, lots of character and a beautiful fit. A great piece from my personal collection which I'm sure I will miss!

Sukajan (スカジャン), or souvenir jacket, is a type of blouse jacket dating from the end of the Second World War. It is inspired by baseball jackets, and it uses embroidery, silk and Japanese influences.
After the end of the Second World War, the remnants of the parachute capes were used by the American soldiers to create light jackets similar to teddy and varsity jackets. Upon leaving, they were decorated with motifs coming from the military inspiration, and then diversified with a mélange of Japanese and American culture, approximating the style to the tattoo technique.

MATERIAL 100% satin.

CONDITION Stains all over the sleeves (the worst on the red side). Many holes (again mainly on sleeves). Zipper head have been previously replaced with one side zipper head.
Despite all of this the jacket is still in good, strong and wearable condition with many more years of life!
I always got tons of compliments when I wear it ;)
