When I'm on holiday, I always try to find some little local, possibly handmade, souvenirs. I particularly like colourful bracelets because I find them very useful to bright up an outfit!
In Carcavelos I met a surfer-girl who makes these bracelets by hand.
She explained me that she has coated the threads with wax to make the bracelets water resistant and therefore very long lasting.
I found them great and I thought to get a couple more for the bazaar.
Carcavelos surf beach is one of the best known surf spots in the Lisbon area and in Portugal. It is 10 minutes drive from Lisbon city centre and gets consistent waves most of the year. It works best on South Western ground swells with a Northern offshore winds. Carcavelos offers many peaks and is good for all levels.
