DESCRIPTION
A classic Army issued HBT (herringbone twill) work bucket hat, commonly known as "Daisy Mae" in a beautifully faded army green.
Contract - A-5224 (please see stencil in the last picture).
Good big size!
Made in USA.
In the late 1930s, the U.S. military issued hats with a wide brim that went all around the head. First made of denim and later herringbone twill, these were nicknamed “Daisy Mae” hats (after a comic-strip character of the time).
FABRIC 100% herringbone twill.
YEAR WW2 era, 40s.
CONDITION Very good vintage condition - especially if you consider that this hat has probably seen some action during the WW2! No eyelets missing.
Killer patina!
HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE 23.75 inches / 60 cm.
