40s USMC MODIFIED P-47 HBT SHIRT

DESCRIPTION
This for me is something really special!
As super cool and nowadays very in demand P-47 HBT shirt (jacket).
It has an amazing patina, good size, and the period modifications add to it a lot of character!
Details include:
- Rounded chest pocket (with pen pocket).
- USMC stencil.
- U.S. Marine Corps donut buttons.
- 7763 stencil on the neck.
- 7763 stencil on the lower bottom.
After the war, even if stocks of the former models were plentiful, the Marines decided to go back to their most popular design: the iconic P-41. It is believed that it was around 1947 that the newly manufactured HBT jackets were issued.
Main differences between the P-41 and P-47 are:
- P-41: square chest pocket, khaki thread.
- P-47: rounded chest pocket, green thread.
FABRIC 100% HBT cotton.
YEAR 40s.
CONDITION Strong vintage condition. No missing buttons. No big holes or rips. Hand pockets have been removed on an early stage (as you can see from picture 4, the difference in colour is minimum). From the stitching and the signs of wear, the sleeves have probably been shortened on an early stage too.

Chest (pit to pit) - 23 inches.
