DESCRIPTION
A classic Extreme Cold Weather Parka (M-65 Fishtail Parka) that, at some stage, has been indigo dyed - the colour is simply amazing!
It comes with liner and hood (both undyed).
Liner and parka can also been worn separately.

First produced in 1968 (’65 refers only to the year of its design), the M-65 fishtail parka was the last revision on the fishtail style, with its main difference being the detachable hood and stand collar. Vintage examples rarely come with their original hood, therefore you typically see M-65 fishtails with just the stand collar, which is still a great look. Later 70s contracts also added a name tape to the chest and removed the word ‘M-65’ from the label and replaced it with ‘PARKA, EXTREME COLD WEATHER’.
In the 1960s UK, the fishtail parka became a symbol of the mod subculture. Because of their practicality, cheapness and availability from military surplus shops, the parka was seen as the ideal garment for fending off the elements and protecting smarter clothes underneath from grease and dirt when on the mod's vehicle of choice, the scooter. Its place in popular culture was assured by newspaper pictures of parka-clad mods during the Bank Holiday riots of the 1960s.
