80s ITALIAN ARMY FIELD JACKET

DESCRIPTION
A genuine Italian military surplus issue field jacket.
I think the official name is Roma 75, but i can be completely wrong on this...
Details include:
- Four flap pockets.
- Ventilation holes (please see picture four).
- Pleated cuffs with button closure.
- Shoulder epaulettes.
- Elasticated waist band.
- Central closure with protected buttons.
- Hanging loop.
- Five-pointed stars on collar.

The five-pointed star (or pentalphae) is a typical ornament used on the uniforms of the Italian armed forces: according to the provisions of the Italian military discipline regulations, they are small five-pointed stars worn on all uniforms of military personnel and worn on the lapel and collar.
It's a the symbol of the solemn oath to serve and defend the homeland with discipline and honour, to the point of extreme sacrifice.
There are no documents that explain the reason why the five-pointed star has become the unitary symbol of the Italian armed forces. Even before 1871, the officers of the order of the king and princes wore a six-pointed star in their lapels; in nearly all armies the five, six, or eight-pointed stars were and still are worn as badges of rank.
The military stars recall the oldest Italian national symbol: the Star of Italy.

CONDITION A few minors little holes and signs of wear. Overall in great vintage condition. No missing buttons. All the snap buttons in perfect working condition.
