US NAVY A-2 DECK JACKET
BRAND US Navy (Vanderbilt Shirt Co).
DESCRIPTION
The A-2 Deck Jacket was developed and issued to the U.S. Navy in the 1960s as the successor to the N-1 Deck Jacket.
This should be the 3rd pattern and was manufactured by Vanderbilt Shirt Co.
Details include:
- Chest flapped pocket with stud button.
- Fleece lining.
- Two side pockets.
- Waist adjusters.
- YKK zipper.
- Hanging loop.
- Made in USA.
- Zippered front with buttoned wind protector.
- Woolen cuffs.
YEAR I reckon Vietnam Era (late 70s).
FABRIC Outer cotton sateen; inner made poly fleece mix.
CONDITION Great condition with really minor signs of wear. Contract label still present. Zipper perfectly working. No missing buttons. Amazing patina and fade (please see contrast underneath the collar). Woollen cuffs and side adjusters are worn out, but they still do their job. Lining in perfect condition.
